"...buried in the depths of the sea"

Buenas días! Cómo has estado?  I hope all is well!  Spanish word of the day:  Bizcocho  (cake- Puerto Rico)  Quick update: -started to teach 8 new people this week!  -currently teaching 30 people...its crazy -it is now day 74 of the quarantine :)  -Life is Good I really want to share an awesome study I had this week while reading in Ether 6. This is when the Brother of Jared and his family journey to the promised land (America).  I kind of had a profound realization. First, to put into perspective, they were in their barges that were "tight like unto a dish" for 344 days!! Imagine that! You, your family, all your chickens, sheep, bees, and much more for 344 days!  We read in verses 5 and 6 that "they were at  many  times buried in the depths of the sea, because of the mountain of waves which broke upon them...and terrible tempests caused by the fierceness of the wind."  Here was the realization: Now, we must remember,  who...

What's on your belief window?

Buenas días,  Spanish word of the day is:  El Hombre  Murciélago  (Batman)  Hello everyone, all is well here in Revere if you're wondering.  I want to do something a little bit different here in my email today. If you have the time to do this, I highly recommend it, there is a high chance it will change the way you see your behavior and the behavior of others. I hope and pray it will help you gain a greater perspective and love for others.  To start, there is talk titled  "The Belief Window"  by Hyrum Smith, this is your homework (haha), go listen to it.  In this particular devotional, we learn some very important things about us as human beings (God's children) and why we need our Savior Jesus Christ.  First, we learn of the four basic human needs. They are 1.  To live   2.  To be loved  3.  To feel important  4.  Variety  These needs are like a wheel, they are a motivator for the belief...

The Promised land

Hey everyone,  Spanish word of the week:   Pulpo  (Octopus)  All I can say is that I am truly blessed with the areas I have been in. Revere is considered the Promised land amoung the Spanish program because it is one of the three Spanish wards in the mission.  In my studies this week, I found something kind of cool.  When asked the question "How can I be a disciple of Jesus Christ?" I ran into some scriptures I'd like to share.  Upon reading in Matthew 4:24-25 and 5:1 we can learn something quite powerful.  In versus 24-25, it talks about the multitudes of people that followed Jesus. He grew famous for the amazing miracles he performed.  When reading Matthew 5:1 there is a change in words.  "And seeing the multitudes, He went up into a mountain; and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:" Did you catch that?? The change is multitudes to disciples. One aspect of wanting to become a disciple is that we need to climb the mountain wit...

Feliz día!  Spanish word of the day:   Zurdo  (Not ambidextrous or right handed; aka ME)  There is lot to fill you all in on. Just in: the MBM (Massachusetts Boston Mission) has had some serious but temporary changes!  Sadly, my area is temporarily closing. I'm heading to Revere, the area just north. As for all of our friends, they are being handed to the Spanish sisters here.  Not going to lie, when I first found out about this, I was in shock. I couldn't believe this was happening. I felt this wave of sadness because we have worked so so hard here and then it's all getting ripped off.  Hopefully, as more missionaries begin to arrive in the coming weeks, it can be reopened again.  Change is a very interesting thing. Often times we resist change because we are comfortable where we have been and don't want to leave that comfort. If there is one thing that I have learned is that we can't grow in this moment of comfort.  Quite obviously, Adam an...
