Ask and ye shall receive
Hi friends and family,
This last week I got some pretty interesting news. President Brough called and asked how I would feel with training in an area where neither I or my companion are familiar with. Naturally I told him I would do anything he asked me to do. The previous week, I told him that for my last transfer, I could really use a change. Whether it was a new area, moving back to spanish, training, or a new companion.Ask and ye shall receive, I guess I should be less specific next time. He gave me all of those. So, I will be in Harford with a brand new missionary in a brand new district and an area that is completely unknown.
It's the last leg of the marathon and I plan on finishing as strong as I possibly can. Lately, to help wrap things up and have some closure, I'm making a small book with all the life lessons I've learned while here. That way when someone asks me the silly question "How was your mission?", I can hand them this handy dandy book of wisdom.
Here are a few cool experiences that happened this last week.
Tatiana - She was a self-referral for a bible study. It was the second time meeting, and we had invited the YSA senior couple, Elder and Sister Busath. They both brought the hammer of the Spirit down. It was such a powerful experience. We were discussing the Doctrine of Jesus Christ and how we can show faith in our daily lives. After breaking down the verses, she shared a very neat experience with us. The time before, I had invited her to pray to God with honesty and openness. She had put it off for a day, but the invitation still tugged at her. Finally she decided to act. After praying, God had given her an idea to read Psalms 32:5. It was exactly what she needed in that very specific moment. For the first time in a long time, God confirmed to me that what I say actually has an impact, and that He had inspired me to invite her to pray.
Carmelo & Ashlyn - Carmelo is a recent convert and Ashlyn is a returning member. They are so awesome. We reviewed the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and had a very spiritually uplifting discussion. They have plans to go to the temple in the next year to get sealed in the temple and start a family founded on the gospel. They truly are wonderful people.
Please know that I love and appreciate you. I am so grateful for your continued support, it really does make a difference. Please know that God loves you and has a plan for you. Stay strong.
