Crows in the snow

Saludo!

It feels like it's been forever since I wrote my last email.

As this is being written, I'm watching hundreds of crows go through our neighbors garbage bins. I kid you not, there are hundreds. I think its fascinating to watch, others might say I'm crazy.
It is also an absolute blizzard right now. We're supposed to receive a few feet of snow. bring it on New England.

This last week we saw some solid progress with Linzey. If you remember, she's the 16 year old that already knows the book of Mormon to be true, and has had spiritual manifestations throughout her life.
She was able to meet Presidente Batista and his wife, Márcia, who happens to be the Presidenta of the Young Woman's. We now have their full support in Linzey's baptism.
The next big step was having Linzey get to know some of the youth in the branch. After two weeks of rescheduling, we finally had a video call with the Peralta Family. They have kids that are Linzey's age, and they were able to help resolve some of her concerns and worries.

Last week, for our district P-day, we went on a hike to Castle Craig. Something I didn't know, is that this is the highest point on the east coast before running into the Appalachian mountains. I was also able to walk on a frozen lake for the first time. Don't worry, it was 3-5 inches thick, no one fell in.

This last week I've been thinking a lot of the idea of "you reap what you seed". I found a few scriptures on this topic that help how to apply it in our lives. One thing I really enjoy about the scriptures is that it doesn't always have to be linked to a spiritual aspect. These things can also apply to our daily lives with work, play, and family.
Sometimes, our actions can appear to have no effect on our future. This can lead to cognitive dissonance, or, making yourself believe what you are doing is fine, when in reality, it's not. So, be careful with all of the habits you make, they always will have consequences, good or bad.

I love you all! Hope you have a wonderful week! Stay warm and safe!

con mucho amor,
Elder Rasmussen
