Le salió el tiro por la culata
Good afternoon,
This is a saying I learned this week. It means: "it backfired on him".
This last week I was hoping to stay at least one more transfer with Elder Jones, but life had a different plan. I'll be going down to Warwick, RI. It's about 15 minutes south of Providence. I'm gonna miss my boy. We've gotten really close together, to the point we can finish each other's sentences.
Thursday was a monumental day for the missionaries and members. We were able to eat dinner with our branch President. Even though it was outside and socially distanced, it was so nice to be back in person. I have felt a strong shift in my mission recently for putting more of energy into member retention. It is just as rewarding as helping someone come unto baptism.
It reminds me of the parable Jesus told about the lost sheep and the prodigal son. If you haven't already, go watch episode 1 of the 2nd season of the Chosen. It portrays very well the mercy and love that Christ has for his lost children.
If you or someone you know is feeling lost, there is always solace in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Whether it is to love, feel loved, or belong to something, His Doctrine can be a benefit to you. Everyone has a very special and specific role to play in this plan. You DO have a purpose!
That's all I've got for this week. I understand my emails have gotten progressively shorter. If you ever want to chat, send me an email or message on Facebook messenger.
Lastly, happy birthday dad. You make 50 look good!
con mucho amor,
Elder Rasmussen
