La Privación de sueño
Saludo,
We had a bit of a crazy week.
It started last Sunday when the 2nd councelor of the bishopric informed me that though I wouldn't be giving my talk, I'd still need to translate for those that were speaking from the Stake. I feel proficient with the language, but it was still a pretty big headache to figure out how not to butcher the messages they prepared. I'm grateful for the patience that the members have for missionaries.
That evening, we slept over at the Portuguese and English elders apartment so we could take Elder Merkley to the airport at the crack of dawn. Instead of getting sleep, Elder Shaw, Merkely and I decided to just stay up all night and wait it out playing card games. For Elder Merkely it was just a day trip to Utah for his consolarte appointment in order to return to Mexico. So, staying up late again, we picked him back up from the airport at 12am. I can't complain though, I always enjoy getting to drive through Boston whenever I can.
Also, I'd like to congratulate my cousin Quin for getting his mission call to Finland. That super cool, enjoy the journey!
This last week in District council I had prepared a training on the power of our minds. I find it fascinating that the most complex system we know of on this planet is our own brain. Only consisting of water, fat, and 83 billion cells- of which have over a thousand variations each- sits right between your ears. I'm throughly convinced that this is not merely a coincidence. Of all the marvelous and magnificent creations God has formed, we are his greatest work.
So, next time you think you are powerless, weak, or unworthy, remember who who are and where you came from. You are destined to be great, and rule in the stars right alongside your heavenly parents.
You CAN do it, and you CAN'T ever fall far enough for the shining light of our Savior Jesus Christ.
