Baptism in the Bury'

Well folks, my time has finally come. It's been a great 3 transfers here in Waterbury. I guess I'm needed in others places.

Last week (February 14th) we were planning on having Linzey baptized, but because of a minor health concern, it was postponed to yesterday.

Man, it was stressful but SO rewarding to see the smile on her face. Her mom (who isn't a member) was there to support her along with 25 or so members. After she was baptized and confirmed, she gave a very powerful testimony. She explained that she hadn't attended a church in a long while, and that she was very nervous of entering because she felt unworthy. Upon walking through to the chapel, she felt all that unworthiness crumble away. She felt a love and healing that she's need for a very long time.
The Spirit was super strong. Her mom was very touched and moved by the power that was manefested. Not to mention, at the end, all the members were overcome with the Spirit and were embracing one another.

After most everyone had left, Hermana Tamariz came up to us and thanked us for bringing the branch together. It was the hope that they needed to keep going and working through this pandemic.
That's when it hit me pretty hard that I had done something good in my life. I think that's what a lot of missionaries hope and pray for. Just to make a positive influence on the people. It was a gentle assurance that I still matter and have a purpose.

It was a great last week here in Waterbury.

Speaking of changes, I'll be going back to Massachusetts this Wednesday. I'm going to be in Framingham.

The work as all of the sudden picked up in the last week (funny how that happens right before transfers)
Gladys is a new friend of ours. She has been really struggling lately and she immediately opened up to us. She was ready to start meeting consistently to feel of God's love. She loves reading the Bible and book of Mormon with us. While reading in 2 Nephi 2, she had a huge "a-ha" moment of why Adam and Eve fell and why bad things happen to good people.
Another is Willson. He straight up asked why he wanted a copy of the Book of Mormon, and he said that something deep inside him was very drawn to it. He too has been struggling with some vices and is humble and ready to change.

Guys, God is real. He hasn't forgotten about us down here. All we need to do is pray and reach out to Him. I can't imagine, it's probably hard to answer prayers when no one is praying to you.

Have a nice snowy week! We got lots here!

con mucho amor,
