Cultured man

Good afternoon,

I've realized that I haven't spoken much about the work, so here's a brief update:

+Linzey - Finally got her parents permission to get baptized! We have a date set for the 14th of February, please keep her and her family in your prayers

+Heredia Familia - They recently contracted Covid-19 so we no longer can meet in person with them. Progress has been slow, but in due time they will get baptized and eventually, want to be sealed in the temple as a family.

+Alexander Fox - Recent referral who has received all the missionary lessons while living in Equador. Supposedly he's ready for baptism, we'll see tonight.

Along with all of our friends, we've been strengthening member relations and working with less-actives. In fact, we had a nice call with Michael, Basilio, and Miguel, all at once, to start going back to church and become the priesthood holders God needs them to be.

As for this last week, we've been able to do a lot of cultural digging in our area on Pday. We visited the local Buddhist temple and had a very warm welcome from the monk who ran the place. Some things I really enjoy about this religion is the focus on self-mastery and mutual honor for family that's living or have passed away.

One of my most favorite invitations that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints extends is to bring all that is good, and share it with the other members. Many times, when inviting friends to baptism, there is this unrealistic expectation that they'll have to cast off their culture and family traditions in order to join, but that just isn't the case. Whatever you have that is good, bring it, whatever is bad, align yourself with the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Today for our cultural adventure, we payed a visit to Yale. It feels a lot like Notre Dame (of Paris) with all of its Gothic style pillars, spires, windows and literature. We even stopped by the Skull and Bones Society building, but only for a brief moment, that place gives me the creeps. We finished off our trip with our hands full of treats from the famous Donut Crazy.

Thank you for all of your love and support, keep doing the little things, they make all the difference!

con mucho amor,
Elder Rasmussen
