The power within
Spanish Word of the Day : Mandamás - (Big boss, head honcho, big dog)
Buena' día', e'pero que todo e'ta bien con ustede' (Dominican Spanish haha)
All is well here, a little update on our friends:
Manuel-He's probably 50 years old. One of the most solid people we have ever met. We asked him to stop drinking coffee and he said he'd stop right in that moment. This guy is powerful!
Alberto - Soft-spoken guy but knows the Bible very well, he has a very strong desire to know the truth.
I want to talk about the concept of temptation.
We know that while we are on this earth, we will experience both good and evil. That is just a given about being mortal, basically all of 2 Nephi 2.
Now, I genuinely think that God did not just leave us down here to be completely subject the the evils of this world. He's given us some tools to fight those enticings. We read in the Pearl of Great Price in Moses 1:10-26 of Moses (a great prophet) when he is tempted.
We can read something VERY special that I believe will help us with ANY kind of temptation, whether it be to sin, to harm others or ourselves, or what ever it may be.
We can find power in these 6 words in verse 13:
I am a son (or daughter) of God
(say it outloud to yourself in the mirror a couple of times)
How can it be that simple? Well, when we truly know our identity as children of our Father in Heaven, we have power. True, divine power to command those temptations to leave.
That's exactly what Moses did, he told Satan off. Be gone, good riddance, get thee hence. However way you say it, you can tell him to leave. Because you have diety in your DNA, you have power to do so.
My dear friends and family, I love you all so much. I am concerned for each and every one of you. You mean so much to me! You also mean everything to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ! I know that they both live and love.
Don't ever forget that you are loved!
