Las Montañas y los Valles
Salutations from rainy New England,
Spanish word of the day: bizco (cross-eyed)
Like the title says, this week there were mountains and valleys. If you think about it, in this life, we are climbing a mountain. Sometimes, this mountain has a valley we need to go into in order to reach the top. Keep climbing!

A super neat thing happened the other night. I got a friend request from a lady in Colombia. She messaged first and it was apparant she had met missionaries previously, but in a very amazing way. She told us she had a dream a long time ago being in a train station and saw to angels, that looked very human.
Not to long ago, she was heading home from work and saw those two same people (missionaries) on the bus, they were in fact the same faces she saw in this dream. WOW!
Because of the quarantine, she hasn't found any missionaries until now... US!
This reminds me of Moroní 7:36 that angels DO exist!
The valley this week was that my companion has been struggling with having to go home in less than two weeks. I have basically seen him go through the many stages of grief. Denial, anger, dispair, sadness, you name it. I'm really learning how to be supportive and loving.
With what has been going on, I have really had to rely on the grace the our Savior so freely proffers us. And I say proffer, not offer. Proffer means to give without accepting anything in return.
This wonderful gift of grace we have been given not only helps us as sinners, but as saints as well. Whenever we're struggling, the enabling power of the Atonement will help carry us through.
It's a concept not understood very well. This power of the Atonement helps us before, during, AND after our trial. Not when we exhaust ourselves of resources and then say "OK, Lord, now I need help".
"The Savior empowers us with His grace, not because we've earned it, but because He loves us perfectly"

I love you all so much! Want to know who else does? Jesus!
Have a wonderful week!
