The work must go on
Good afternoon my dear friends and family,
Spanish word of the day: La papiroflexia (origami)
Things are back to normal now...mostly.
With transfers, I got a new companion which means I finally got to stop living our of a suitcase. My new companion is Elder Nuttall. He is from Georgia and like my last three companions, is heading home. It's not normal to send home 3 of your companions but what can I say, I guess I'm too much to handle.
We have started to get settled in with the whole quarantine. We've accepted the fact that it's not going to be for a little while before we can get out. Not gonna lie, I've experienced all the stages of grief since we found out.
With that being said, we have really gotten to work. We set up two baptismal dates within two days. That means we have a total of three date. Please pray for these to happen! Also, please pray for our friends Huber, Jovanny, and Peter.
This right here is evidence that God's work doesn't stop until he says so. At times, in our own lives and others, it seems that everything is going into a downward spiral out of control. Upon stepping back and gaining a greater and grander perspective on things, we can see that God's hand is in any of the things around us.
I was reading in Alma 30 this week. Here, Korihor the anti-Christ is conversing with Alma. When asking for a sign to prove God exists, Alma says this in v. 44
"...Thou hast had signs enough...the scriptures are laid before thee, yea and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea and its motion, yea and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator."
I so solemnly testify that even with all these times of chaos, we can find God in the smallest of things.
