Unlucky number 13

Buenas días friends and family,

Word of the day: sapo (frog)

I apologize for not writing last week.

This week had its ups and downs. I've recently realized that for every bad thing that happens, there is a good thing you can find. There is opposition in ALL things!

This concept was especially prevelant when we had 13 people on track to go to church. I think we hyped ourselves up a little too much because one by one they all said they couldn't attend. As frustrating as it was, I was able to have a cool experience later in the evening. I was able to give a member a blessing of health.

Still on the idea of opposition, I've realized something interesting. Whether it be when Moses sees God or Joseph Smith in the First Vision, before their experiences, the opposition seems almost to powerful that they succumb. BUT, amazingly enough, they have faith to be delivered. These contrasts of such darkness then to such lightness have helped me to understand deeper why we have our own hard experiences.

With out the emotional, spiritual, or physical valleys we experience, we really wouldn't know what it would be like to have our times of happiness and joy at the top of the mountain.

There will always be good that counteracts the bad. Always. We read of this in

2 Nephi 2:15 "...it must needs be that there was [and is] an opposition"

Love you all, have a safe, snowy week (to my people in Utah).

con mucho amor,
