"Hey, I love that book!"

Buenas tardes mis amigos,   The word of the week is:   da tu  (OK in Dominican)  This was week was pretty cold until today which was nice.  We had a cool miracle this week. Every lesson with Jovanny is always out of the park. We always can feel the spirit. We were teaching the Plan of Salvation up to the Atonement of Jesus Christ. We were coming to an end and we were just starting to testify when this guy comes into the room saying "Hey, I love that book!". We saw him pointing at the Book of Mormon. Then Jovanny was like, "you wanna come learn about it?". So he did. Come to find out he was a retn missionary and trying to recover from drug addiction just like Jovanny. He then said he and other guys from the facility were going to church and invited Jovanny! He then was like "Sí claro (of coarse)"  Super short email this week. Love you all! Hope you can have an awesome week!  con mucho amor, Elder Rasmussen

Buenas días!  Word of the week:   Anhelar-  to wish vehemntly Update: I'm now in Boston with Elder Allred. He's from AZ, super nice guy, has about 16 months under his belt Funny story: Elder Allred and I were doing contacts in a Dunkin donuts. There was the group of old guys that were sitting near by. At first I couldn't tell what they were speaking. That's when they saw us looking at them and they started speaking English. They told us they were from Greece. We went back to planning when more of them started to show up. One said to me "Greek guys talk a lot when they drink coffee". He wasn't kidding. It was really funny.  Boston has been crazy! The border of our area is the Charles River and all the way down to Dedham and Milton. There are WAYY more people here than in Lynn. There is always some thing to do here which is nice, but also crazy because we're just running around.  Had a cool lesson with a guy named Jovanny. Currently he's in a recover...

Ladies and gentlemen, friends and family,  Word of the day:   Oso de peluche  (teddy bear)  This last week has been a bit of a stress. One of my companions is going home and the other is only one transfer in. It was really up in the air as to who is going where. We all thought I'd stay because I've done 2 transfers here in Lynn but nope.  My time here in Lynn has come to an end. I've been transferred to Boston!  Had an awesome lesson with Manfredo and his wife Miriam on Thursday. He recently decided to take the lessons seriously so we were able to go I to depth with the Restoration. Super powerful lesson. Last time he said he wants to spend eternity with his wife and 5 month old daughter. How cool is that!  Funny thing happened while tracting. We were in this place called Rainbow Terrace. We weren't having many people open their doors which was quite unusual. As we turned the corner, we saw three Hispanic ladies sitting in their car. I opened with "Som...

Unlucky number 13

Buenas días friends and family,  Word of the day:   sapo  (frog)  I apologize for not writing last week.  This week had its ups and downs. I've recently realized that for every bad thing that happens, there is a good thing you can find. There is opposition in ALL things! This concept was especially prevelant when we had 13 people on track to go to church. I think we hyped ourselves up a little too much because one by one they all said they couldn't attend. As frustrating as it was, I was able to have a cool experience later in the evening. I was able to give a member a blessing of health.  Still on the idea of opposition, I've realized something interesting. Whether it be when Moses sees God or Joseph Smith in the First Vision, before their experiences, the opposition seems almost to powerful that they succumb. BUT, amazingly enough, they have faith to be delivered. These contrasts of such darkness then to such lightness have helped me to understand deeper ...
