Angels with name tags
Angeles con nombre tags
Dear Family and Friends,
What an amazing week it has been. Being able to share the gospel in another language is truly a privilege. It is such a beautiful process. Similar to how a refiners fire functions, you are gradually cleansed, hardened, and shaped into what the Lord wants you to be. He wants you to go through these hard experiences because of the immense amount of love he has for you. You might be feeling pressure and pain right now, but just know that it is to shape you into what he wants you to be. He knows what you need.
I want to talk about a really tender moment that I had last Saturday. At the end of our P-day, we had language class. We had a substitute and his name was Brother Jenkins. This guy was seriously so cool. I have never learned more in one class than with this guy. Towards the end of class, he said we were going to read the Book of Mormon in spanish. My whole district including myself were worried and skeptical that we would even understand. We said that we wouldn't be able to feel the Spirit because it was all in Spanish. Boy were we sorely mistaken. He had us open up to Moroni 7:36. This verse of scripture is really interesting. It is in the form of a question. It says "Or have angels ceased to appear unto the children of men? Or has he withheld the power of the Holy Ghost from them?..." He asked us "Has God withheld his power from this Earth? Has he left us alone?" We all answered "no". He asked, "Do angels still exist on this earth?" We all said "yes". He then proceeded to define that angels walk with Jesus Christ and spread his gospel. Brother Jenkins then said "...because you have chosen to walk with Jesus Christ, you are LITERALLY angels with name tags". This is when the Spirit basically said to me "I told you so". I felt the spirit so strong. I felt this immense feeling of responsibility take over and the need to minister to everyone I come in contact with. I was amazed to be able to feel the Spirit even though all of this was being said in Spanish.
Con mucho amor,

Elder Annas and I had our first all Spanish TRC's this week. Wow were we nervous. We felt to unqualified and unprepared. We were able to meet with a woman named Rosita. She is seriously so sweet. We began our lesson with her about talking about the doctrine of Christ. When we were discussing those principles, I felt the need to ask her a question. I said "What are some problems and issues you have had in your life?" in my broken translations, she basically said she never had a good relationship with her mom. That's when Elder Annas testified of what prayer was. The Spirit filled the room. She then leaned closer and asked, "I want to know how to pray". WOW! I don't know if she is a member of the church or not, but this was amazing. We helped teach her how to pray and gain a relationship with God. We testified that God will bless her if she had faith and a desire to receive answers to her questions. As we finished our lesson, she said that she understood that we were struggling and that we were new with the language. wow. I was speechless. I wanted to cry because of how kind and understanding she was.
Here at the MTC we have to find ways to have fun but keeping it all within the rules. These things include: singing Bohemian Rhapsody at the top of our lungs in the shower, giving bee stings with rubber bands, kendama competitions, making togas with our bed sheets, putting all the furniture in the mandarin elders room, and much much more. Of course we are doing this all in the later hours of the evening where we have free time.
I love you all! I love this gospel, I know it is real. I have seen it in my life. Our Savior Jesus Christ is waiting to catch you, all you need is faith and trust in Him.
I'll do better with taking photos. There just isn't much here at the MTC haha
