Limited-access to Harvard

Image
Good afternoon!  Hope all is well! Hope you had a nice week!  This last P-Day was pretty neat.  We made our way to the famous Harvard University. So, all five of us (my trio and the Japanese Elders) went towards the center of campus to check it all out. Coincidentally, we ran into the bishop of the YSA ward in Cambridge. He showed us around, giving us a nice little private tour. He then led us to the science research building. Because the bishop is a genius, he got us limited-access into the 8th floor all the way up to the observatory. Guess you could say we're pretty cool.  In total this week, we had a total of 5-6 hours of Facebook finding...lets just say it's been pretty grueling.  We spoke with Manuel this last week. He's doing well, but sadly we had to take his kids off of baptismal date. There has been some difficulty within the family, so we've been having to hold off. We decided to make them some cookies instead. Pleas pray for them!!  Today our fel...

A close call

Good morning dearest family and friends,  The Spanish word of the day is:¿tartamudeé? (Did I stutter?)  Seriously dodged a bullet this week. There were growing feelings that I was going to leave Revere. I'm on my 4th transfer so things are getting ripe. We all cast our lots but it turns out that the odds were in my favor. I'm staying a other 2 weeks.  Got some lovely news! On Friday I became an uncle! If you get the chance, go give McKenna, Alex, and baby Lincoln some love!  We had a really cool experience at church yesterday. Both our friends Brandon and Edgar joined us for sacrament meeting. At the end we asked if we could stay and have a discussion. They both agreed! It was a super deep and really tranquilo discussion. Sadly though, both don't pertain to our area which means we'll have to hand them off soon :(  One thing we talked about was praying always so that we don't fall into temptation. We understand that the adversary is constantly working against us,...

Once upon a time there was a five Elder apartment

Good morning friends and family,  Spanish word of the day is: madrugador (early riser)  Forgive me for not sending an email the last week, things have been a bit crazy as we recieved two more elders in our already limited space apartment. The day before transfers we got a lovely call from our mission leaders saying "Elders! You're making mission history tomorrow!"  So there we were, preparing to fit two Japanese elders in the beloved Rumny Flats. We thought we were all set, but spoke too soon. No hate though, they're good guys, all we needed to do was set a few standards of living with them.  The weather is falling into fall little by little. The ocasional tree with colors and the cool brisk nightly winds have arrived.  I read a neat story in John 8:54-59 this week. It's when Jesus is teaching on the temple mount during a large Jewish festival. The Pharasees and Sadducees were trying to discredit Jesus by trying saying he was younger than the prophet Abraham. We...
