Answered prayers!

Good afternoon!  Spanish word of the day: Chuletas (chops/sideburns) First off, thank you for reading my emails! I really hope I can make a positive contribution to your day. I have been waiting for this week to arrive for sooooo long. On Saturday, we held the baptism of our guy Manuel! I'd like to share a small miracle that occurred three days earlier. As of right now, Massachussetts doesnt allow missionaries attend baptisms in person. When we had invited Manuel to be baptized two months earlier, we had accepted that fact that we wouldnt be there in person. Up until this point, we had never met him in person, its always been over video. We had prayed constantly and consistently to be able to attend in person. Three days before the baptism, Elder Chalk suggested that we call president to chat a little about Manuel and his baptism. With our good charm, we humbly asked pres. Mavromatis for permission to attend in person. To our absolute shock, he said he would permit us to go th...

New Companion: Elder Chalk

Buenos días, que onda?  Spanish word of the day:   Maje  (bloke; pronounced "MA-hay")  First things first, I got my new companion and let's just say we already have some inside jokes. His name is Elder Chalk and served in Guatemala for about 10 months and he's from the nation of Texas Had a special moment on Sunday. My friend Jovanny (in Boston) got baptized and I was able to watch it over Zoom. It's amazing to see that I was able to participate in this event having taught him in the past.  On the thought of baptism, this week, I ask you all to pray that all goes well with Manuel's baptism on the 25th.  This week, I'd like to talk about the joy we can have from repentence. While reading in Alma 36:21, something interesting caught my attention. This is when Alma the Younger is recounting his change of heart to his son.  In verse 21, I love how he compares the bitterness of his sins to the sweetness of his repentence. After reading this, I realized witho...

Hello everyone,  A very eventful week this was, lots of good, lots of sad, but overall was good.  Saturday was the baptism of Angel and Brian. Though it was strange not being able to attend the service, we were all edified through the wonderful miracle of technology!  Yesterday night, we got the news that 24 reassigned missionaries will be joining the MBM. With that being said, Elder Gardner and I will have to part our ways (again). I will be staying here manning the wheel in Revere, while he heads off to Rhode Island. Fun fact, Rhode Island isn't even an island, I don't know what they were thinking. It's also the smallest state in the U.S of A.  I want to talk a little bit about forgiveness and repentence. To start, me must understand the two great commandments that Jesus taught.  1. Love God with all your strength and soul 2. Love your neighbor as you love yourself So with this in mind, I want to talk about the apostle Peter. I really enjoy the many different ...

Little piece of Texas

Good day everyone, hope you enjoyed your weekend of independence.  Spanish word of the week:   baboso  ~ Slimy or slobbery Miracle this week: (lesson with Martha) we were asking how her reading was going. She then expressed some concerns she had about prayer. Miraculously enough, we planned on teaching about prayer that day without even knowing her needs. T'was a wonderful lesson!  This week on Saturday, our friends Angel and Brian are going to be baptized. It's pretty cool to watch a father and son make this big decision. Please pray that all goes well with the service!  I want to talk about icebergs today. We as humans have a lot of similarities with these huge masses of solid ice. With about about 10-15% of its mass above the surface, and the rest stretching deep into the ocean, we can learn something. Like an iceberg, you can only know so much about someone on the surface. Everyone has something that they keep deep below. That means that we shouldn't base ou...
